No one knows what will unfold
When destiny’s future play is told
Here we share our thoughts and dreams
Of what we hope for in those scenes

A new year to arrive all in glitz,
Finding me digging in my ditch.
Planting and mulching is where I'll be,
Not laid out under a tree.

A brand new century to turn green,
The compost pile will surely make me scream.
Chores to do of a year gone by,
Gardening is my life till the day I die!

I hope and I pray
that a future actually comes my way! :)
And if it does, I do dream,
of friends, love, and less of "things".
For I have found, all through the years,
that pining for "things" interfers with my dreams
Of friendship, love and laughter that rings.
For "things" I could so very easily part,
But I need my loved ones in the hearth of my heart.

Hope for the future? 2 answers:
(serious) I hope we can stop
Monsanto before it's too late.
They scare me. New book on
biotech called "Farmageddon" tells
me I'm not the only one.
(frivolous) I hope my husband and
I can get some time together
before the youngest (now 7)
leaves for college!

dear friends,
away from all thats now
i wonder if and how
the future sits and stares
at all the wordly wares
and chuckles in her knowledge
that it all ends up as garbage
i wonder if she'll let us know
the only thing we'll have in tow
when we get close to the end of time
are the people we've held in laugh and rhyme.
peace.

I really didn't want to cause the weather
was cool
But snatched up the Speedo & headed for
 the pool
We were standing all together, chatting
in a group
When the cry rang out "Lifguard's
found a poop"
Some had a grimace, others had a grin
Sure am glad he found it
'fore we all jumped in!!!

My "hope" is this is not an emerging trend:/

In the future I wish for health
Don't care much bout the wealth.
And how about a big surprise
If I should learn how to be wise.

Tomorrow's just a room to me
a place to keep my chores
I've better things to do today
Like games & food & snores

Unless it's fun, I put it off
and hide it in tomorrow
Today's the future yesterday
Tomorrow I will borrow

Who cares about the future
it's speculative fiction
To think about what could be
is unecessary friction

When I hear the cry "Procrastinator!"
I always take the bait
I look them right between the eyes
and say "Yah? Just wait!"

Carpe Diem *in the day of future passed zone*

When future beckons, hopes and fears
Confuse and frustrate me
Hard to chart tomorrow by days or years
When today is my reality

Makes no sense, nor seems too wise
Connected by flesh or heart
Circumstance, by sweet or dread surprise
Tear future dreams apart

My dreams are tethered with other souls
With whom my future ress
We often talk of tomorrows and goals
How we've been torn and blessed

The stage of life upon which we act
Graces neither youth or beauty or funds
Incident and accident; fate, not pact
Shape and resonate those distant drums

While future hopes and dreams spin on
They go where we cannot chart
Gleaning from the past, in dark or sun
Knowing not how to stop or start

All must wish for good health and peace
Such real riches for those whom we treasure
For what could be more vital than these
To continue through hardship and pleasure?

Today is the canvas that I work upon
For it is all that I know
And all too soon it will end and be gone
As tomorrow will reap what it sowed.

The future? Well, I really hope,
that all of this ain't one big joke!

In my chair
I sit and read
Book or computer
And yet I see
A shining beacon
Not far away
Tis my future
As it stands today.

And when I turn
To look around
I find that beacon
Does surround
And every pinpoint
That future makes
Is slightly different
From its mate.

And from this difference
May I infer?
It's my decisions
That guides future?
That with my God
And the brain He gave
My heart and soul
A path I'll blaze?

That each and every
Choice I make
Begets a future
A different stake?
So be it happy
Or be it sad
It's mine to make
And for that I'm glad.

As for what I hope
I cannot say
For what's hoped for now
May differ someday.
A garden plot
And friends to see.
Smiles and tears
And hugs for free.
:)
